Our story
DEXIT Translations was founded in 2006 by two freelance translators fresh from in-house duty at a German automotive company.
Right from the start, we focused on training and developing new translation professionals and even fostered partnerships with universities. One of these students has risen through the ranks to become our trusted project manager, and some of our external team are also products of this investment in others’ expertise.
The team now consists of three in-house specialists, two closely associated external project managers and a core team of 12 expert linguists, who handle everything from Italian localisation to software localisation and technical document translation.

Antonio Gelsomino
Managing Director & Co-Owner- State certified translator in Germany since 1997
- Former lecturer in Italian Linguistics at Kiel University, co-editor of the German-Italian Klett-Zanichelli dictionary, and in-house German automotive translator
- Splits his time between Braunschweig, Germany and his Tuscan home near Florence
Lorenzo Capitta
Senior Linguist & Project Manager- Started working with DEXIT in 2007 as an intern during his linguistics and literature studies
- Has worked for publishing houses, the automotive and utilities industries and the environmental sector
- Born in Sardinia, Lorenzo has lived for many years in Berlin
Claudia Lampis
Senior Linguist & Project Manager- Started with DEXIT as a freelance translator in 2016, joining us in-house in 2017
- Translation experiences spans marketing material, travel guides and educational material
- Moved to Berlin in Germany in 2013 and has been based in Braunschweig since 2016
